Tottenham are set for a new, albeit temporary, era under Igor Tudor, and there are a handful of players who could benefit most from his arrival in north London.
Tudor was appointed as manager earlier this month following the sacking of Thomas Frank, and the former Juventus boss is set to be in charge until the end of the season.
Whether Tudor earns himself a permanent deal remains to be seen, but as it stands, he’s tasked with steering Spurs away from the relegation zone.
Tottenham should be safe from relegation given the quality of their squad, but they are near the bottom for a reason. Tudor will need plenty of improvement from his current crop of players, and here are some who could benefit from his arrival.
Pedro Porro
Pedro Porro is edging closer to a return to action, and Frank confirmed before his dismissal that there was a chance that he would be fit enough for the north London derby against Arsenal, which takes place this weekend.
Tudor plays a three-at-the-back system, and that could be a huge benefit to Porro. The former Man City full-back has struggled defensively at times during his Tottenham career, but this could allow him to play more of an advanced role on the right-hand side.
Porro could be the ideal option for Tudor in that position, as he’s able to utilise his attacking threat, getting crosses in from deep and providing width.
Randal Kolo Muani
Another player who could benefit from the appointment of Tudor is Randal Kolo Muani, but for different reasons. Kolo Muani has played under Tudor before, so the connection they’ve already built could help the French striker finally kick-start his Spurs career.
Kolo Muani is still searching for his first Premier League goal since arriving at Tottenham, and although he didn’t play under Tudor for too long, he was effective when he did feature.
The 27-year-old scored five goals and provided an assist in just 11 games under Tudor, a return Tottenham fans would dream of from Kolo Muani at the moment.

Mathys Tel
Mathys Tel, who is reportedly ‘unhappy’ at Tottenham at the moment, is another player that Spurs are just waiting to finally hit the heights expected of them. It’s not quite worked out for him at Tottenham just yet, but Tudor’s system could get the best out of him.
Italian football commentator Patrick Kendrick said this about Tudor’s style of play:
“He had a free-scoring team with two number 10s playing behind a lone striker, but the back three is pretty in vogue in Italy, and it’s looked at as a way of making sure you’re solid first and foremost.”
Tel, who can play out wide or through the middle, could be suited to one of the number 10 roles behind the striker. The French youngster likes to drive with the ball and make things happen in the final third, and the freedom given in a number 10 role could be what he needs to finally unlock his full potential.
