HSV celebrate hitting 1887 Bundesliga games with special-edition shirt

To celebrate their 1887th Bundesliga game, Hamburger SV have released a special-edition jersey.

Hamburger SV have hit an extraordinary milestone, as the club have now played 1887 games in the Bundesliga – the same number as the year the club was founded. 

As only the seventh Bundesliga club to reach this goal, HSV are releasing a special-edition heritage-inspired jersey to mark the historic event. 

Under the motto “Sturm und Glanz” (Storm and Glory), the jersey is designed to honor both the glory-filled moments and tougher times that altogether have led the club to where it is today.

Honouring 465 players

The shirt features the classic white and blue signature colors, with a dark-red crew neck and gold details. Most remarkable is the special 1887 print on the back, which you might want to take a closer look at.

The number at the back features the names of the 465 players who have represented HSV in the Bundesliga – a way of honoring the players who made it possible for HSV to get to where they are today.
