Bayern Munich pushing to beat Premier League clubs for Yan Diomande

Bayern Munich are keen on signing RB Leipzig’s highly-coveted winger Yan Diomande (h/t Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano).

The Bavarians are prioritising a new left winger this summer to provide cover for Luis Diaz, and have identified Diomande as their top target.

The 19-year-old has taken the Bundesliga by storm in his debut season after Leipzig triggered his €20 million release clause to sign hiom from Leganes last summer.

The Ivorian prodigy has scored nine goals and provided six assists in all competitions for Leipzig, propelling him into the top tier of the best young wingers in Europe.

Leipzig are poised to cash in on their prized asset due to growing interest from suitors, but will not accept anything less than €100 million.

Several Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Diomande, while Bayern manager Vincent Kompany has given the green light to bring him to the Allianz Arena.

The Bavarians remain in contact with Diomande’s camp, although no concrete steps have been taken.

Leipzig’s hefty valuation appears to be holding back Bayern and other suitors. His contract expires in 2030.

Diomande’s stunning performances show that he is ready to make his mark at an elite club. He ranks among the best dribblers and progressive passers in Europe.

The Ivorian international’s pace, prolificacy in the final third and versatility to play in both flanks make him one of the most sought-after talents.

Diomande’s technical prowess and directness allow him to thrive against low blocks and in transitional attacks, making him an ideal fit for Bayern.

However, having already spent around €80m for Diaz last summer, the Bundesliga champions may be unwilling to break the bank again for Diomande.

The Leipzig star would face competition from Diaz and Michael Olise if he joins Bayern.
