Ben White suffered another frustrating injury after being forced off in Arsenal’s FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic on Sunday, with Mikel Arteta also losing Riccardo Calafiori in the warm-up
Ben White has urged Arsenal fans not to worry about the injury he appeared to suffer in the FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic.
Mikel Arteta started the English defender in the cup clash against the League One minnows. It was a comfortable afternoon for the Gunners, who secured an efficient 4-0 victory with all goals coming in the opening 45 minutes.
However, White was forced to leave the pitch towards the end of the match after picking up an apparent knock. This would have been a concerning sight for Arteta and Arsenal fans, who had already seen Riccardo Calafiori pull out of the clash during the warm-up.

Arteta acknowledged the increasing number of injuries within his squad was a concern as their battle for an unprecedented quadruple continues. However, White had good news for his manager and supporter base.
Accompanying a photo of him playing against Wigan, he posted: “Next round, No injuries” suggesting the niggle he picked up against the 2013 winners will not keep him out for long, if at all. This will be welcome news for Arteta, who has seen several key players suffer injuries recently.

Mikel Merino is expected to be out for the remainder of the season, whilst Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard are also dealing with injuries.
After the match, Arteta addressed the growing injury list, saying: “Before it was the strikers, then it was the defenders, now it’s the midfielders.
“But we are still coping with that, but we need some players back and fit, to give us as well not only numbers but different options in relation to the opponents that we have. So the quicker the better.”
Arsenal return to Premier League duties in midweek and face Wolverhampton Wanderers, where they’ll have the chance to restore a seven-point advantage over Manchester City.
Arteta will travel to Molineux with Eberechi Eze showing signs of hitting his stride after a challenging spell for the England international.
The midfielder has needed time to settle in following his substantial summer transfer from Crystal Palace, but appeared increasingly assured against Wigan.
When questioned whether Sunday’s performance could provide a confidence boost for Eze, Arteta responded: “Yes, some superb goals and his intentions.
“I think the risk that he took in the final third, the amount of shots that he tried to take as well, I think that’s really positive. That’s what I want from him.
“Those players need those moments and especially when we talk about the creative players, they need to feel that they are producing those moments and I’m very happy with that.
“I’m very happy with Gabi as well, the run that he made, the timing of that and then the finish in action, really, really positive. So it’s good for the mood, for the confidence, it’s a really good thing.”
