In an interview with Polish Kanal Sportowy, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski discussed his start to life at the current league leaders.
“I always wanted to play in LaLiga and live in Spain. Now I feel renewed,” Lewandowski said in words reported by Diario AS.
On Barcelona teammates
“Gavi, Pedri, Ansu [Fati] and [Alejandro] Balde impress me because of how mature they are at their age. I’m learning Spanish and little by little I’m understanding it better. It helped me a lot that English is understood in the dressing room.”
Real Madrid interest
“Real Madrid had been interested in me, but when Barcelona called me I didn’t have to think about it. I knew that the club was not going through its best spell, but I have always thought about the future. Barcelona will be among the greats again.”
On pre-season with Xavi
“The pre-season with Xavi was very intense. I expected it to be easier. It was even harder than the pre-season with Bayern [Munich].”
