Liverpool Hold Meeting With Agents of Mateus Mane at AXA Training Centre

Liverpool have met with the agents of Wolves star Mateus Mane at the AXA Training Centre this week ahead of a potential summer move, according to DaveOCKop.

The Reds had a record-breaking summer window last year as they broke the British transfer record twice to sign Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, while they also completed deals for Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong. But the team has struggled this season on the pitch, and are at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification.

As a result, no concrete plans for the upcoming summer have been made yet, but moves are being made behind the scenes, and the club have held a meeting with one potential target.

Liverpool Meet With Mane Agents

Mateus Mane

Mane broke into the Wolves team this season under Rob Edwards and has been one of the team’s standout performers since, despite the club facing an imminent relegation after accruing just nine points from their 26 games so far this season.

Described as ‘special’, the teenage midfielder is capable of playing as a central midfielder or as part of the attack as a winger or number ten, and his performances have attracted the attention of several top clubs.

Wolves have looked to fend off interested parties by handing the 18-year-old a new long-term contract, but with the club facing the drop there will inevitably be other teams sniffing around this summer, and the player’s agents have held meetings to discuss what the future could look like.

A fresh report has revealed that Mane’s agents have visited the AXA training centre ahead of a potential move to Anfield this summer. Talks were held to get an understanding of the situation and a transfer, and while there is no guarantee that they will make a formal move at this stage, their interest is clear.

Mane’s agents are also set to hold talks with a number of other clubs to discuss his options and figure out what is best for him.

Liverpool Planning for the Future

Alongside a potential move for Mane, Liverpool have already secured the signing of young defender Jeremy Jacquet for the summer, and that shows that the club are planning for the future.

With the likes of Andrew Robertson, Virgil Van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah all the wrong side of 30, fresh blood is needed, and it requires new ideas and bringing in youngsters who are ready to make an immediate impact while also having room to improve in years to come.

Mane fits the bill for that, and this is a situation to keep an eye on in the coming months.
