France international centre-back Dayot Upamecano (27) has finally signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga giants have announced. Upamecano has put pen to paper over a four-year contract extension. The Frenchman has entered the final months of the five-year deal he signed with Bayern Munich following his transfer from RB Leipzig back in 2021.
“I’m really happy to be staying at Bayern and continuing to play in this team. We’ve got a great team and a great coach. We’ve got big goals together”, Upamecano said.
Upamecano’s fine form with the Bavarians, and France, as well as his contractual situation attracted the likes of PSG and Real Madrid. But Die Rekordmeister have successfully convinced the former Valenciennes FC youth product to commit his future in Germany. Upamecano has won three Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich and has featured three times in the players’ union’s team of the Bundesliga season.
