Como sporting director Carloalberto Ludi has provided a non-committal update on the futures of Cesc Fabregas and Nico Paz, suggesting that previous certainties regarding their stays have now shifted.
Speaking to Sky Italia, Ludi acknowledged that while he was confident about their continuity in the past, the current landscape has made him more cautious.
Regarding the Spanish manager and the Argentine talent, he admitted – via TMW: “I don’t want to lie. I was sure they would stay, in May perhaps I was a bit hesitant, but I am happy that they are still at the center of the project. Now it is premature to talk about it.”
Specifically addressing Fabregas, Ludi noted that the coach remains “totally focused on this experience and on guiding us into a new dimension.” However, the situation surrounding Nico Paz appears more complex due to external factors. The director explained: “Nico is super involved and appreciated by everyone, his future does not depend on us as you know and therefore we can do nothing but wait.”
The comments mark a departure from the definitive stance the club had taken previously. While both figures remain integral to the Lariani’s current success, Ludi’s latest remarks indicate that the long-term project may face significant changes as the club evaluates its next steps.
Real Madrid are likely to land the attacker in the summer, with Fabregas having previously rejected Inter. No clubs have come forward for him yet but things can change, especially if Como qualify for Europe.
