Schalke confirmed that Rodrigo Zalazar has a metatarsal fracture and Sepp van den Berg suffered serious ligament damage to his ankle in the loss to Augsburg. These injuries will keep both players out of the team until at least the start of next year.
Sporting Director Rouven Schröder stated that, “This is extremely bitter – We have absolute confidence in the squad. We wish Sepp and Rodi a speedy recovery. Both will receive our full support so that they can get back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
Frank Kramer’s seat is beginning to warm, as newly-promoted Schalke sit 15th with just one win through eight games.
