Team News and Predicted Starting Lineups

Liverpool and Man City will go head-to-head in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, with both sides desperate for a victory.

Arne Slot’s side come into the game on the back of a dominant 4-1 win over Newcastle last weekend, but they currently sit in sixth place in the table, five points behind Man Utd in fourth. Pep Guardiola’s side, on the other hand, surrendered a 2-0 lead against Tottenham last weekend to draw 2-2 and sit nine points behind league leaders Arsenal, but did book a place in the Carabao Cup final in midweek with a 3-1 win over Newcastle.

Both sides have several injury problems ahead of the game, and this is how GIVEMESPORT expects the teams to line up as a result.

The Reds have a defensive injury crisis to deal with ahead of the game, with Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, and Giovanni Leoni ruled out, while Joe Gomez is also a doubt with a groin problem.

Striker Alexander Isak remains out with a broken leg too, which should see Hugo Ekitike lead the line in attack.

Slot Drops Team News Update

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Slot shared an update on his squad ahead of the game.

“Jeremie [Frimpong] will definitely not train this week, so he’s not available for the weekend.

“With Joe [Gomez], we have a little bit of hope that he might train Saturday. So, not available to start but maybe available to help the team if needed during the game because, as you already know, there are not that many defenders available at the moment.”
