Norwich City Make £7m Bid to Sign Celtic Target Kasper Hogh

Norwich City have reportedly made a £7m bid to sign Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh, who Celtic reportedly opened talks to sign, Fabrizio Romano has claimed.

Hogh made the headlines earlier this month after he struck twice for Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. The clinical striker has been in impressive goalscoring form for the Norwegian club, and he’s now attracting interest from a host of different clubs.

Since joining Bodo/Glimt, Hogh has scored 42 goals and provided 12 assists in 82 appearances, while he’s also scored 12 times in 28 games in European competitions. It now looks like Hogh could be on the move before the end of the January transfer window.

According to journalist Romano, Norwich have submitted a £7m package to sign Bodo/Glimt striker Hogh, with negotiations ongoing between the two clubs.

Just a few days ago, Sky Sports reported that Celtic have made an enquiry for the 25-year-old striker, but they face plenty of competition for his signature, alongside Norwich. It was claimed by Sky Sports that his future would be decided this week, and it seems Norwich have made a play to try and get ahead of the other competition.

It remains unclear whether £7m is going to be enough for Bodo/Glimt to consider parting ways with their star striker. As per Transfermarkt, Bodo/Glimt have only sold a player for more than the Norwich bid once in their history, when Albert Gronbaek made the move to Stade Rennais last season.

Norwich Bid Could Spark Celtic Into Life

The bid from Norwich could see Celtic up the ante in their pursuit of a new striker. After making contact, there is clearly an interest from the Glasgow giants and they are obviously considering a move, but it remains to be seen whether they can match or better the bid from the English Championship side.

Martin O’Neill’s side are likely in the market for further reinforcements in the January transfer window after a disappointing start to the season, which sees them trailing behind both Rangers and Hearts in the title race. They’ve shown an upturn in form under O’Neill, but investment might still be necessary if they are to lift the title this season.
