Sevilla CF have signed Marseille striker Neal Maupay (29) on loan, the La Liga side has announced. Maupay’s loan move to Sevilla includes a €6m option to make his move permanent. Maupay has been on the fringes at Marseille all season. Despite his move from Everton being made permanent in the summer, it was quickly apparent that Maupay had no future at the Vélodrome, despite Amine Gouiri’s lengthy spell on the sidelines earlier in the season.
Maupay only featured three times this season. Whilst OM initially wanted a permanent transfer, Sevilla have signed the Frenchman on a loan deal with an option to buy. Maupay was previously a target for Paris FC. The former Brentford and Everton striker will wear the No. 17 jersey with the Rojiblancos.
