Bayer Leverkusen have announced that they have completed the loan signing of Jonas Omlin from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Following the injury to Mark Flekken, die Werkself were left with backup goalkeeper Janis Blaswich as their number one; however, they have now reacted by bringing in Omlin for the rest of the season.
Omlin had lost his place as Gladbach’s number one following the rapid development of Moritz Nicolas, and the fact that, since joining in 2023 from Montpellier, he has also been unreliable in terms of his injuries.
How Gladbach will react to Omlin’s move to Leverkusen:
Following the Swiss keeper’s move to the BayArena, Sky Germany reports that Gladbach have reacted by recalling goalkeeper Jan Olschowsky from his loan at Alemannia Aachen. The 24-year-old will be the number two behind Nicolas, a role he previously held in the 2022/23 season behind Omlin following the departure of Yann Sommer.
This season, Olschowsky has featured 20 times for Aachen, who are currently 15th in the 3.Liga.
