Milan have identified Mario Gila as their primary target to reinforce the defense, with negotiations between the Rossoneri and Lazio intensifying over the last week.
According to Daniele Longo, contacts between the two clubs have been ongoing for ten days as Milan look to secure the Spanish defender. Gila is ready for a step up to a top club, having established himself as a reliable performer in the capital. However, finding an agreement on the valuation remains the main hurdle.
The financial details of the potential deal are currently being debated. Lazio president Claudio Lotito is standing firm on a request of €30 million to sanction a sale. On the other hand, Milan have opened discussions with a base offer of €20 million. While there is still a significant gap between the offer and the asking price, the persistence of the dialogue suggests a willingness from both parties to find a middle ground.
Gila, who joined Lazio from Real Madrid, is seen by the Milan management as an ideal profile for their defensive project due to his age and tactical flexibility.
