Real Madrid fans single two players out for heavy criticism after Copa del Rey exit

Supporters of La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Wednesday evening taken aim at a whole host of the club’s stars.

This comes fresh off an outing to forget for all associated with Los Blancos.

Two players in particular, though, have been singled out for more widespread condemnation than any others.

The pair in question? Andriy Lunin, and Vinícius Jr.

Real were of course back in action a short time ago, making the trip to 2nd-tier Albacete for a Copa del Rey Last-16 clash.

The fixture came as the club’s first under the watch of new head coach Álvaro Arbeloa, following the dismissal of Xabi Alonso earlier this week.

Arbeloa’s tenure, however, could not have gotten off to a worse start.

After falling behind on three separate occasions across the 90 minutes, Los Blancos were forced to face up to an eventual 3-2 defeat.

Barely a single one of the visitors’ players could hold their heads high post-match, after producing an uninspired, lacklustre display.

As alluded to above, though, in the eyes of Real Madrid’s fans, two of the club’s stars were deserving of more flak than any others…

In goal, Andriy Lunin endured a dismal evening in place of Thibaut Courtois, whilst headline act Vinícius Jr, who was desperately needed in the absence of Rodrygo and Kylian Mbappé, failed to perform, either.

The pair, in turn, have since been widely and ruthlessly criticised online:
