Aston Villa want to bolster their attack this winter to help keep pace with Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Villa are looking to re-sign Tammy Abraham to keep their title challenge alive, per The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath.
Abraham spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Villa Park, when he scored 26 goals in 40 appearances to help the Midlands side secure Premier League promotion.
However, signing him again would be complicated as the English striker is on loan at Besiktas from AS Roma.
The move will be made permanent for £11.2 million if certain conditions are met.
Abraham’s wages could also be a stumbling block as he is currently earning around £115,000 per week.
Villa have made an impressive start to the 2025-26 campaign, collecting 43 points from 21 league games to be third in the table.
Despite the 4-1 thrashing at Arsenal, the Lions are only six points behind the leaders.
Targeting Abraham shows their intent to hunt down the Gunners in the title race.
Ollie Watkins has been excellent for the Midlands outfit this campaign, scoring seven goals in 28 matches across all competitions.
But manager Unai Emery wants to bring support for the 30-year-old, who has started all but three of Villa’s Premier League fixtures.
Abraham could be a superb addition for them, as he is highly rated for his physical presence, movement and finishing ability.
He has scored 12 goals in 24 games for Besiktas this season so far.
