Arsenal have joined Manchester City in the transfer race for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The Gunners were interested in signing the England international last summer, but eventually purchased Cristian Mosquera from Valencia.
Piero Hincapie also arrived on loan with an option to buy included in his deal.
Despite the signings, Arsenal remain interested in Guehi and will try to secure a deal for him, according to the Mirror.
A deal for the 25-year-old is not expected to be easy, as Palace will demand a huge fee to sell him this month.
Guehi has been a key first-team player for the Eagles since he joined the club from Chelsea in 2021.
He has made 187 appearances across all competitions, bagging 11 goals and eight assists.
Guehi came close to joining Liverpool on deadline day of the summer transfer window, but Palace blocked the move at the last moment.
Liverpool are still keen on the centre-back, but City are leading the race.
City are desperate for defensive reinforcements after injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias during the 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend.
John Stones is also sidelined, leaving them short of defensive options at a critical stage of the season.
