Mainz have confirmed the signing of Silas Katompa Mvumpa from VfB Stuttgart.
The Congolese forward has joined Mainz on a permanent basis, with the Zerofivers opting not to disclose the length of the contract.
“We’re delighted that we’ve been able to bring Silas to Mainz 05. He’s known for his pace, his ability to take players on and his goal threat – qualities he has already demonstrated impressively at VfB Stuttgart. Silas will strengthen our squad and add new dimensions to our attacking play,” said Mainz sporting director Niko Bungert.
Silas added:
“I’m really looking forward to showing what I can do for Mainz 05. The talks with the club were very positive and full of mutual respect. I’m desperate to be back out on the pitch in the Bundesliga and can’t wait for things to finally get going.”
