Mats Hummels has revealed he’s in regular contact with Germany coach Hansi Flick about a possible return to the national team.
“We are in a regular exchange and always discuss how we see the situation,” Hummels told Bild.
The 33-year-old centre-back hasn’t been called up to the national team since the summer of 2021, but it’s not unlikely that he will be brought back for the World Cup in November.
According to Bild, Hummels has made it clear to Flick that he would fully accept a reserve role should his services be needed.
