An explanation for the dismissal of Real Madrid star Álvaro Carreras during the club’s latest outing has come to the fore online.
Left-back Carreras was of course one of two Blancos defenders sent off on Sunday evening.
On a night to forget for all associated with Xabi Alonso’s troops, en route to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Celta Vigo, the Spaniard was shown a pair of quickfire yellow cards in injury time.
And COPE have since revealed precisely why.
Carreras, it is claimed, shouted the following angrily in the direction of the referee, amid mounting tensions at the Bernabéu:
”You’re absolutely terrible!”
Real Madrid, in turn, look set to be forced to see out the club’s upcoming domestic fixtures without the services of their big-money summer signing.
This comes with Carreras facing up to a predicted two-match ban in La Liga, for insulting a match official.
