Sheraldo Becker still sees room for improvement

Sheraldo Becker has one of the Bundesliga’s best players so far this season. Nevertheless, the Union Berlin attacker insists he hasn’t reached his full potential yet.

Union Berlin have made an outstanding start to the new season, sitting top of the Bundesliga after seven games.
Sheraldo Becker has been key to their success, racking up six goals and four assists so far. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old still sees room for improvement.

“There is still more potential in me, and I want to show everyone that. I want to continue to be important for the team and help wherever I can,” Becker told Kicker.

“It’s important that I’m allowed to play from the start. The early days at Union were tough because I didn’t play regularly. Since then, I’ve received trust from everyone. That’s also one reason why I extended my contract.”

Becker added the Union coach Urs Fischer has been important to his rise to prominence.

“He has helped me a lot. And not only on but also off the pitch,” Becker said and continued:

“The first year wasn’t easy, but now I’m finding my way better and better. I’ve shown that on the pitch recently, too, and I’d like to continue building on that in the future.”
