Mikel Arteta has issued an update on Arsenal trio William Saliba, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz ahead of Wednesday’s home fixture against Brentford
Mikel Arteta has hinted William Saliba is likely to miss Arsenal’s clash with Brentford due to the knock that kept him out of the 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
The Frenchman travelled with the Gunners squad to Stamford Bridge but was unable to feature for the Premier League leaders.
When asked to provide an update on the 24-year-old, Arteta said: “I am not going to be able to help you much today as we have another training session. He had a little niggle but I think it’s going to be a matter of days.”
Leandro Trossard could also miss the game against the Bees with the calf problem that forced him off in the first half of the Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.

The Belgian underwent further tests on Friday and Arteta now says he’s a “matter of days” away from returning to the Arsenal fold.
Meanwhile, Arteta added that Kai Havertz was “a matter of weeks” from being able to return to the field following his minor surgical knee procedure back in August.
Initially, Arteta had previously claimed the German had an outside chance of being fit to face his former club Chelsea.
The Spaniard also provided a further update on Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, who is currently out with a thigh injury.
Arteta said of the Brazilian: “He’s doing very well but that’s weeks as well.”
Viktor Gyokeres is expected to be in contention to start against Keith Andrews’ side on Wednesday evening at the Emirates Stadium.
The Swede made his return from the bench on Sunday at Chelsea following a muscle issue sustained in the 2-0 win over Burnley last month.
Captain Martin Odegaard is also back fit again after appearing from the bench against Bayern Munich and the Blues.
Now he could be set to start his first match since early October when he damaged his MCL in the 2-0 triumph over West Ham.
