Colombus Crew manager Wilfried Nancy has been permitted to engage in talks with Celtic, L’Équipe understands.
Scottish champions Celtic are in the market for a new manager since Brendan Rodgers’ resignation at the end of October. Martin O’Neill is current in charge of the club on an interim basis, but in the meantime, Celtic are searching the market for a permanent replacement.
Nancy, L’Équipe understands, has been allowed to hold talks with the Scottish Premiership side. The Frenchman is keen on a return to Europe. He remains under contract at Colombus Crew, however, the club’s season has now concluded, following a play-off defeat to Cincinnati.
Back in 2023, Nancy’s Colombus Crew finished as US champions, however, the time may now have come for him to take on a new challenge. He is now well-placed to take the job at Celtic, who currently sit second in the league, seven points behind Hearts, albeit with a game in hand.
