WWE has always been the land of giants, where towering superstars loom large over their rivals and captivate fans with their sheer size and presence. From the legendary Andre the Giant to present-day goliaths, the WWE roster has always featured superstars whose height alone made them stand out in the ring.
But being tall in WWE isn’t just about size; it’s about using that advantage to carve out a lasting legacy. For as much as WWE celebrates its tradition of highlighting big men, though, the company has been known to stretch the truth when it comes to just how big certain Superstars are. Kane, for example, was billed as being seven feet tall, but was actually several inches shorter.
To separate fact from fiction, below is a look at the 16 tallest Superstars in WWE history (per figures taken from WhatCulture Wrestling).

Matt Morgan
Height: 6ft 11″
Morgan first found his way onto WWE’s radar as an unsuccessful applicant on the reality show Tough Enough. His sheer size quickly persuaded the company to hand him a developmental deal, and it didn’t take him long to make his main roster debut at Survivor Series 2003 as part of a team captained by Brock Lesnar. His association with ‘The Next Big Thing’ was a fleeting one, though, and he soon disappeared from television. When he reappeared, the promotion asked him to portray a character with a stutter. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t out and the big man was released by WWE in July 2005. He would enjoy greater success later in his career as part of TNA Wrestling, before retiring in 2014 to move into politics.
9
Jackson Andrews
Height: 6ft 11″
WWE bosses were big fans of Andrews look and rushed him onto WWE television just a year after signing him to a developmental deal in September 2009. Upon being called up to the main roster, he served as the bodyguard of Tyson Kidd on the Raw brand. After just a few weeks, though, he was written out of storylines after being attacked by Mark Henry. In reality, Andrews was sent back to developmental to improve his in-ring skills. Less than six months after his Raw debut, Jackson was released and quietly retired from professional wrestling in May 2011.
8
Eli Cottonwood
Height: 7ft
Another giant that WWE once had plans for, Eli Cottonwood participated in the second season of the NXT reality show alongside names such as Husky Harris (aka Bray Wyatt) and Titus O’Neil. Cottonwood was eliminated from the competition at an early stage, but impressed those backstage enough that he was brought up to Raw for a tryout match (where he lost to Dolph Ziggler). After being sent back to developmental, Cottonwood formed an alliance with Wyatt and was set to be part of the original line-up of The Wyatt Family. However, Cottonwood requested his release just a couple of months after being paired with Bray and departed WWE in June 2012. He retired from professional wrestling completely in 2016.
7
Big Show
Height: 7ft
Such is the crazy nature of wrestling that despite being dubbed as the ‘World’s Largest Athlete’, Big Show is only the seventh tallest WWE Superstar in history. It was Big Show’s overall size, not just his height, that made him one of WWE’s biggest-ever stars. The seven-time world champion still towered over pretty much everyone he shared the ring with, including The Undertaker and Kane, both of whom he held tag team championships with. The 53-year-old is still involved in professional wrestling, working as a commentator, ambassador, coach and occasional wrestler for AEW under his real name of Paul Wight.
6
Shanky
Height: 7ft
Shanky was one of three Indian trainees signed by WWE in January 2020. The global pandemic meant that he didn’t wrestle at all for a full year, which no doubt hurt his progression and prospects with the promotion. When he was finally called up to the main roster in May 2021, it was a part of three-man crew, alongside Jinder Mahal and Veer. Shanky would become used to wrestling in multi-man matches. In his entire WWE career, he only wrestled four singles matches, and two of those came in the weekend when facing Mahal during a house show run. Despite being a man of considerable size, Shanky was saddled with a bizarre dancing gimmick during his final months on WWE television. He was released by the company in September 2023.
5
The Great Khali
Height: 7ft 1″
It’s no surprise that The Great Khali features on this list. In addition to being one of WWE’s tallest stars ever, he is also among the heaviest. The Indian star’s imposing stature saw him granted a run with the World Heavyweight Championship back in 2007 as he became the country’s first-ever world champion. After dropping the belt to Bastista a few months later, Khali remained part of the main event scene for another 12 months before adopting a ‘Punjabi Playboy’ gimmick for the rest of his WWE run. After his contract expired in November 2014, Khali departed the promotion, although he has made several cameo appearances since.
4
Giant Silva
Height: 7ft 2″
That Giant Silva represented Brazil in international basketball should give some indication as to how massive he truly was. Signing with WWE in 1997, Silva made his debut as part of The Oddities faction the following year. The group was popular, although Silva himself rarely wrestled and could usually be found cheering on his teammates at ringside during the Attitude Era. In total, he wrestled just 17 matches for WWE. He was released by the company in February 1999, although he did return for a one-off match later that summer.
3
Omos
Height: 7ft 3″
Omos is one of the tallest men in WWE history, and he’s also the tallest member of the current WWE roster. The former Raw Tag Team Champion is a beast of a man, and looking at just how big he is, it’s no wonder that WWE reportedly had huge plans for him at one point. Omos is so tall, that images emerged online of him looking taller than AJ Styles, even when AJ was stood in the middle of the ring, and Omos was on the outside. The Nigerian Giant hasn’t wrestled on WWE television for more than 18 months, but that didn’t stop the promotion from offering the towering Superstar a new long-term contract in mid-2025.
2
Andre The Giant
Height: 7ft 4″
As his name suggests, the first-ever inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame was a staggeringly large Superstar. Andre is the largest person to ever hold the WWE Championship, with the individual in top spot in these rankings never having won the belt. The company promoted Andre as a special attraction for years, selling hundreds of thousands of tickets based on his name alone. The spectacle of the legendary Frenchman being slammed by Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 3 will forever be one of the most iconic in WWE history. Sadly, Andre would pass away from heart failure in 1993 at the age of just 46.
1
Giant Gonzalez
Height: 7ft 7″
Giant Gonzalez is the tallest Superstar in WWE history, even though his true height was several inches less than the eight feet that WWE billed him as after his debut in January 1993. The real-life Jorge Gonzalez, who suffered from gigantism, is legitimately the tallest Argentinian to have ever lived. He found his way into professional wrestling with World Championship Wrestling after an ill-fated attempt at an NBA career with the Atlanta Hawks. Although he was better suited to life in the squared circle than on the basketball court, Gonzalez’s condition still made it tough for him to perform to a high level in the ring. He wrestled 59 times for WWE between January and September 1993, with his most high-profile match being a disqualification loss to The Undertaker at WrestleMania IX. After being released by the company in October 1993, Gonzalez would continue to wrestle occasionally in Japan until December 1995, when the physical toll of competing became too great for him. Gonzalez passed away in September 2010, aged only 44, due to complications caused by diabetes.
