Wolves are set to confirm the appointment of Rob Edwards early next week, with the Middlesbrough manager signing a three-and-a-half-year deal, GIVEMESPORT understands.
Edwards was recently stood down by Middlesbrough for their game in the Championship at the weekend, with the North East club confirming that they had reached an agreement with Wolves over compensation. Edwards had been granted permission to speak to Wolves, and he now looks set to join the Premier League, and he has an almighty task on his hands.
The Wanderers remain bottom of the Premier League table after their 3-0 defeat away to Chelsea at the weekend. Wolves are still looking for their first win of the campaign in England’s top flight, picking up just two points from their opening 11 fixtures. Edwards is no stranger to Molineux, having spent time there as a player and a coach during his career.

According to Ornstein, reporting for The Athletic, Wolves are set to confirm the appointment of Edwards early next week, after Middlesbrough and the Midlands club agreed a compensation fee. GIVEMESPORT understands that Middlesbrough are set to receive just under £3m in compensation, and we can confirm that a three-and-a-half-year contract will be signed. Edwards looks set to arrive on Monday morning ahead of signing his contract at Molineux, with the club believing the appointment will be a long-term one. Discussions are now ongoing over the potential coaching staff for Edwards.
