Four Germans and 11 Bundesligists remain in contention for “Golden Boy” award

Germany coach Hansi Flick has lavished praise on 19-year-old Bayern youngster Jamal Musiala.
Flick is very impressed with the versatile midfielder, who has featured 15 times for Germany with one goal to his name so far.

“He has extraordinary qualities,” said Hansi Flick in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and added:

“For us as coaches, the game against the Netherlands was a real revelation: We played with Ilkay [Gündogan] and Jamal as a No. 6. Both did an excellent job and also brought in other components.

“Jamal has super anticipation, is somehow always on the ball with his feet, wins the ball a lot and has a good first touch. How he intuitively gets out of situations where he’s actually under a lot of pressure is quite impressive.

“He can also play more offensively, and there he already puts pressure on the others. He simply has qualities that a team needs, especially when it gets tight in the final third. That’s why he’s a factor in our considerations,” Flick noted.
