As reported by Kicker, Hannes Wolf will not play again for Borussia Mönchengladbach until 2023 as he suffered a shoulder injury against former club RB Leipzig at the weekend that may require surgery.
The Austrian suffered a labial tear in his shoulder joint and after being substituted on by Daniel Farke in Gladbach’s 3-0 win over Leipzig. Wolf was replaced by Patrick Herrmann only a few minutes later.
The attacker was hoping to try and break into the Gladbach team this season as he was sent on loan to Swansea City in the second half of last season. However, Wolf has had to deal with appearances off the bench for the team from the Niederrhein and has only made four appearances this season.
This is another setback for Wolf who has struggled since he moved from Leipzig to Gladbach, initially on loan two years ago before a permanent deal was signed.
