In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we’ll highlight 10 players to consider adding to your team ahead of Matchday 9.

As a rule of thumb, we’ll try to steer clear of the most obvious picks, instead focusing mainly on players who could offer great value as differentials.

Kevin Diks, Borussia Mönchengladbach (Defender, 2.37M, 1%)

Borussia Mönchengladbach finally secured their first win of the season in midweek, defeating Karlsruher SC 3-1, and now face two crucial Bundesliga matches against St. Pauli and 1. FC Köln. After a difficult start to the season, Diks’ price has dropped to 2.37 million, making him an interesting budget option at the back. Following Kevin Stöger’s missed penalty against Bayern, coach Eugen Polanski revealed that both Stöger and Diks had been considered as potential takers. With Stöger failing to convert, the Indonesian international is likely to take the next spot-kick, further boosting his Fantasy appeal.

Yan Couto, Borussia Dortmund (Defender, 5.98M, 3%)

Since Julian Ryerson played 120 minutes against Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB-Pokal midweek, Yan Couto is almost certain to get the nod at right wing-back against a struggling Augsburg on Friday. With Dortmund in strong form and Die Fuggerstädter in serious problems, the attack-minded wing-back could prove excellent value for money.

Luka Vuskovic, Hamburger SV (Defender, 11.82M, 19%)

Vuskovic offers the rare combination of a high floor and a high ceiling, making him a top Fantasy pick. Over his last five games, he’s scored between 229 and 371 points, and there’s no reason he shouldn’t continue in the same vein against Köln this weekend.

Nathaniel Brown, Eintracht Frankfurt (Defender, 12.37M, 3%)

Playing in an attacking wing-back role and having scored over 200 points in four of his last five games, Brown is a very appealing pick as Eintracht travel to relegation-threatened Heidenheim. The only downside is the risk of rotation after playing 120 minutes against Dortmund in the cup.

Assan Ouedraogo, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 4.14M, 3%)

Costing just 4.14 million, Ouedraogo has established himself as a regular starter in midfield for in-form RB Leipzig. His Fantasy returns have been mixed, but last week’s haul of 366 points is encouraging, even if he’s not expected to score every game. At this price, he’s certainly a solid option.

Kevin Stöger, Borussia Mönchengladbach (Midfielder, 8.09M, 3%)

Like most Gladbach players, Stöger has seen his price drop significantly since the start of the season, making him very accessible. Die Fohlen are coming off a 3-1 win over Karlsruhe, in which Stöger delivered a strong performance, setting up their second goal. With two decent upcoming fixtures against St. Pauli and Köln coming up, and given his qualities on the ball and in passing, Stöger could play a key role for Gladbach in the coming weeks.

Nadiem Amiri, Mainz (Midfielder, 13.62M, 16%)

Mainz have had a disappointing season so far, but Amiri remains a valuable Fantasy asset, having scored 337 and 252 points in his last two games. With Mainz aiming to end a losing streak of four league games against Werder this weekend, he’s primed to deliver another strong return.

Tim Lemperle, Hoffenheim (Striker, 5.16M, 2%)

At just 5.16 million, Lemperle is significantly cheaper than fellow Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani. While he hasn’t matched his teammate’s point haul, he’s still averaged a solid 177 points per game. With Hoffenheim set to face a struggling Wolfsburg this weekend, owning one of their strikers could be a good idea.

Jonathan Burkardt, Eintracht Frankfurt (Striker, 12.2M, 10%)

Burkardt is on a roll in the Bundesliga, having scored four goals in his last two league games ahead of Eintracht’s trip to 17th-placed Heidenheim. The striker’s upside this week is huge, but his minutes could be managed, given he just played 120 minutes against Dortmund and Eintracht face Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Serhou Guirassy, Borussia Dortmund (Striker, 17.39M, 16%)

Guirassy has gone five games without a goal in all competitions, but Friday’s clash against Augsburg looks like the perfect opportunity to get back on the scoresheet. Augsburg, who suffered a 0-6 defeat to Leipzig last week, are in poor form, and Guirassy was given a much-needed rest against Eintracht Frankfurt, which may have benefitted him.
