Controversy ensued in Hamburger SV’s narrow 1-0 win over DFB-Pokal opponents Heidenheim tonight. Nonetheless, match-winner Robert Glatzel was happy with his side’s work.
“It’s typical football, and also a little crazy, that after my recent emotional rollercoaster, I was able to score the decisive goal today,” the HSV marksman said at full-time.
“To do so right in front of our fans, who always support us all, and me especially. That really moved me, and today was a very emotional moment for me.
“I didn’t see the exact scene that led to the penalty, but I was immediately sure I would take the penalty. It’s fantastic that we won and advanced to the next round.
“Doing that tonight that was very important. We want to continue in exactly the same way now,” the 31-year-old striker said. HSV resume Bundesliga duty away to 1.FC Köln on Sunday.
