Mo Salah Takes Action on Social Media After Frankfurt vs Liverpool

Mohamed Salah appears to have taken action on social media following criticism of his performance as Liverpool cruised to a 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Thursday night. The Reds initially went behind but soon took control of the game, finding five different goalscorers to return to winning ways and put an end to a four-match losing streak.

Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz were standout performers in Germany, while Jeremie Frimpong and Alexander Isak were both forced off through injury. However, another blot on the timeline from an otherwise impressive night was Salah’s apparent frustration at remaining a substitute in the 74th minute, as the winger continues to struggle to rediscover his best form this season.

After all, players like Darwin Nunez have previously had to turn off their comments due to fan backlash over missed chances.

One moment in particular that frustrated Liverpool supporters came when Florian Wirtz was perfectly positioned for a simple square pass from Salah, which would have handed the German his first goal for the club on a silver platter. Instead, Salah opted to take the shot himself – a decision that summed up his recent performances.

Another possibility is that Salah is simply beating himself up over his current dry spell and needs reminding of the old saying: form is temporary, class is permanent.

Just last season, he broke the Premier League record for goal contributions in a single campaign, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists to become the first player to win the league title, Golden Boot, Playmaker award, and Player of the Season all in one season.
