AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche (23) was linked with a move away from his formative club all summer. However, the France international ultimately remained with Les Monégasques, with no club willing to meet the €70m valuation.
Akliouche was linked with Paris Saint-Germain, but he was also strongly linked with a move to the Premier League. Manchester City were touted as a suitor, but not after they landed Rayan Cherki early in the transfer window. Tottenham Hotspur, who Monaco will play in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, was also touted as a destination.
Speaking in a press conference attended by Get French Football News, Akliouche evoked the possibility of a future move to England.
“It is always flattering to have these kinds of links. But I am a Monaco player and tomorrow, we will be playing against Tottenham Hotspur, and I will give it my all. A future move to the Premier League? Why not, but what is important is tomorrow’s match,” said Akliouche.
