It only seems to be a matter of time before Max Eberl will be unveiled as new RB Leipzig sporting director.
Eberl resigned as Gladbach sporting director at the end of January, citing mental exhaustion as the reason for his decision, but his contract with ‘Die Fohlen’ still runs until 2026.
According to Bild, Leipzig have now reached an agreement on a fee of €2.5 million plus €1 million in bonuses with Gladbach.
Per Bild, Eberl is scheduled to begin his work as Leipzig sporting director on December 15.
Leipzig have been looking for a new sporting director since Markus Krösche moved to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021.
