Wolfsburg suffered another loss this weekend, as they sit 17th in the table with only one win heading into the international break. Manager Niko Kovac, who’s job is in serious trouble, did not mince words when discussing his current feelings towards his team:
“We’re just not ready to show the basics that you need in football: passion, camaraderie, the mentality, the sacrifice. I miss that.”
The company club have really struggled offensively with only five goals recorded through seven games. Kovac seems unpleased with the players he has available, bitterly stating, “We have the squad that we have.”
Kovac added that, “Football is not just heel, tip, one, two, three. Football is work, especially when you’re lacking in other things and you’re more limited. – It’s about passion, fighting spirit, will, team spirit. That is what we have to show. Not just once a month, but week after week.”
