A former member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has revealed that he finds more enjoyment in beating his ex-club than arch rivals Barcelona.
The player in question? Marcos Llorente.
Versatile defender/midfielder Llorente for his part brought a close to his decade-long stint on the books of Real Madrid back in 2019.
This came to link up with city rivals Atlético on a permanent basis.
Llorente has since gone on to enjoy a fine stint in the colours of the Rojiblancos, a key member of Diego Simeone’s squad.
Speaking during an interview with COPE late this week, the 30-year-old was therefore drawn on some of the highlights of his time at the Metropolitano.
One such question saw Llorente drawn on past meetings with Real Madrid, as well as Barcelona.
And the Spanish international went on to admit:
“I like winning a derby against Real Madrid more than beating Barça, especially because of everything a derby means.”
