VB boss Sebastian Kehl, while certainly not sounding an “all clear”, did have some better news concerning squad captain Marco Reus’ injury on Sunday.

Confirming initial reports from head-coach Edin Terzic yesterday about a lateral ligament injury, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl did attempt to deliver some better news about the ankle injury that forced squad captain Marco Reus to be stretchered off there pitch yesterday.
According to Kehl, Reus will be missing for at least 3-4 weeks. Obviously, the injury will prevent the 33-year-old from joining Hans Dieter Flick’s German national team squad over the international break. The Bundestrainer will have to nominate a new player to replace the veteran.
Kehl did specifically day that the injury was not so serious as to immediately ruin Reus’ World Cup chances. Kehl conveyed this piece of positive information on Germany’s famed footballing roundtable “Doppelpass”. Reus himself posted a “thank you” to all is fans on instagram and vowed “not to give up” on a chance to represent the country in Qatar.
