Borja Iglesias received his first call-up to the Spanish national team.
In an interview that appeared on Estadio Deportivo, the 29-year-old discussed his feelings regarding the news:
“I’m very happy. The truth is that I think it’s not just a personal award, but also for the team. There are many players in the squad who deserve to be there and hopefully one day they can. The truth is that I’m very happy because it was a dream since I was a child.”
“I’ve always said that if they thought I could make a contribution, I’d be there. I’m very happy to make the latest squad and hopefully everything goes very well and I can help. And then we’ll see what happens,” he added.
Iglesias also thanked the support of his family:
“I remember my parents and my sister, I’m sure they are very happy. They have done a lot for me to fulfil my dream and I am very happy for them.”
