Speaking in a press conference ahead of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga game against Augsburg on Saturday, Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that both Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard will both be available despite the defenders taking a knock.
“Lucas, Kingsley Coman and Bouna Sarr are out,” said Nagelsmann. “Upamecano is doing well, it was just a knock to the knee, nothing dramatic. He didn’t train yesterday but will be able to complete the final training session and play as normal. The same applies to Pavard. Both are available.”
It was reported last week that Coman would be sidelined for several weeks after the French attacker suffered a torn hamstring in training. Bayern also confirmed that Hernández would be missing for several weeks after suffering an adductor injury during their 2-0 win against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Nagelsmann also suggested that Joshua Kimmich will likely start in midfield despite the increased number of games over a short period.
