A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga heavyweights Barcelona produced nothing short of a masterclass on the passing front during the club’s latest outing.
The player in question? Frenkie de Jong.
Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago.
In the club’s season opener in the Champions League, the Blaugrana made the trip to St. James’ Park, for a showdown with Newcastle United.
When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, courtesy of a brace on the part of Man of the Match Marcus Rashford.
The Englishman, though, was far from the only Barca player to shine on Thursday.
Also standing out across the 90 minutes were the likes of Joan García, Pedri, and the aforementioned Frenkie de Jong.
The latter’s performance featured one particularly noteworthy statistic, with De Jong, as per Sofascore, having completed 86 of his 87 attempted passes against Newcastle (99%).
