Harry Kane was awarded with the “Man Of The Match”– trophy after his performance against Chelsea on matchday 1 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.
Here are his thoughts right after the game:
“It’s an amazing result for us, we showed a great performance against a good side; they became Club World Cup Champions not too long ago. We started well, went 2-0 up and got a disappointing goal right after. But we recovered and got the win in the end.”
“Out ball possession was a key factor for the win; Serge (Gnabry) and I dropped deep to make it difficult for Chelsea to press, which was also important for us.”
“It was a physical game, but we anticipated that. What’s great is that we are always 2-3 seconds away from scoring, which was shown in our third goal.”
“Last year I got 11 goals in the Champions League – I hope I can score more this year! The playing style in this competition suits me well.”
