An insight into the status of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal for the club’s European season opener has been forthcoming online.
This, of course, comes fresh off the youngster being diagnosed with an injury setback.
Wide-man Lamine was a notable absence from Barcelona training earlier today, on the eve of the club’s La Liga meeting with Valencia.
An official statement on the part of the Blaugrana soon followed, confirming that:
‘Lamine Yamal is experiencing discomfort in the pubic area and is currently unable to train or play.’
Lamine, in turn, has been ruled out against Valencia on Sunday.
And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the attacker is also highly unlikely to be available to face Newcastle United next week.
As per a report from Barcelona insider Javier Miguel, writing for Diario AS:
‘His presence in the Champions League opener against Newcastle next Thursday is practically ruled out.’
