Chelsea to sign Emmanuel Emegha in 2026

Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Strasbourg striker Emmanuel Emegha in 2026, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

The Dutch forward has been on the London club’s radar for some time, and a pre-agreement is now reportedly in place.

A growing talent for the future

Emegha, 22, had been strongly linked with Chelsea. Reports suggest the Blues have reached an understanding that will see him join Enzo Maresca’s squad in 2026.

He has chosen to remain with Strasbourg for now, guiding them into European competition this season as they compete in the UEFA Conference League.

The Netherlands youth international enjoyed his best campaign last term, scoring 14 goals in 29 appearances for Strasbourg.

That return highlighted his progress and raised his profile across Europe. By deciding to stay in France, he will continue to play regular football, which should further improve his development before arriving at Stamford Bridge.

Competition at Stamford Bridge

When Emegha eventually makes the move, he will face stiff competition for a starting place.

Chelsea already have several young strikers in their squad, including Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, both of whom are considered important parts of the club’s future.

Nicolas Jackson is also in the mix, although his long-term future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain.

The Blues have often been known for signing promising players from across Europe and other parts of the world.

Emegha fits this pattern as a rising talent with the physical and technical qualities to thrive in the Premier League. He will sign a seven-year deal with Chelsea, showing the club’s strong faith in his potential.

Emegha’s style of play combines speed, strength, and clever movement. His explosive pace makes him a danger on the counter-attack, while his finishing has become sharper in recent seasons.

Alongside this, his physical power and endurance allow him to compete strongly with defenders.

Strasbourg have benefited from his athleticism and eye for goal, and Chelsea will hope those same qualities make him a reliable option in their attack.
