Bruno Fernandes to Saudi Transfer Update After Private Ronaldo Talks

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has remained on the radar of big-spending Saudi Pro League sides and could be the subject of an offer in January despite choosing to remain at Old Trafford when advances were made during the summer transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.

Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim splashed the cash ahead of last week’s deadline, with Benjamin Sesko on course to be the most expensive acquisition as add-ons are poised to take the value of his move from RB Leipzig to £73.7million, but he may face a fight to hold onto his captain in the coming months.

Fernandes’ Suitors Keeping Tabs on Situation

Fernandes is being eyed as a target by Saudi Arabian sides for 2026, according to CaughtOffside, even though he chose to stay on Manchester United’s books when Old Trafford icon and Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo made direct contact in an attempt to convince him to join Al-Nassr during the summer.

Al-Hilal were willing to pay £100million and almost treble the midfielder’s wages when they looked to lure him away from the Red Devils in June, as they made preparations for the Club World Cup, but he opted against rushing into a decision and eventually chose to remain in his current surroundings.

CaughtOffside report that Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad have tried to land Fernandes and, despite missing out on his signature, he is likely to continue having suitors from the Saudi Pro League, Major League Soccer and across Europe monitoring his situation ahead of potentially launching a bid in January or next summer.

Manchester United boss Amorim has previously described the 31-year-old as a ‘legend’, highlighting that he was pleased to keep him among his options ahead of his first full campaign in charge, and he has been among the first names on the team sheet since the season got underway last month.

The Red Devils’ preference has been to fend off interest in Fernandes, but CaughtOffside claim that influential figures behind the scenes have acknowledged that they are running out of time to recoup a significant fee for him and that could result in their stance altering ahead of the winter transfer window.

The former Sporting talisman has less than two years remaining on his Old Trafford contract, which allows him to pocket up to £375,000-per-week when bonuses are triggered, and the Red Devils are aware that his value will drop if he is allowed to enter the final 12 months of his agreement.
