Fabrizio Romano Shares Paratici to Tottenham Update After Daniel Levy Exit

Fabio Paratici will now take time to consider his future following the sudden departure of Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy on Thursday, according to GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs and Levy confirmed on Thursday evening that the 63-year-old would be stepping down from his role as executive chairman after nearly 25 years, which could have ramifications for Paratici.

GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Ben Jacobs reported last month that Paratici had agreed to return to Tottenham after his 30-month ban from football, due to false accounting by his former club Juventus, was reduced, which allowed him to work in a consultancy role throughout this summer with Spurs.

According to Jacobs, reporting for talkSPORT, the Italian had been in constant contact with Levy, new CEO Venkatesham and technical director Johan Lange during the summer transfer window as the club added a number of new faces, including Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.

It was expected that the Italian would start in an official role starting no later than October 1, but Levy’s exit could now impact what is going to happen next with the 53-year-old.

According to Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter on Friday, Paratici was ‘close’ to Levy and will now consider what he will do next.

He will now consider his future, he’s always been close to Daniel Levy so it’s time for decisions.

During his first spell at Tottenham, Paratici made some standout signings who continue to be key players for the club under the leadership of Thomas Frank this season.

One of the Italian’s best is new club captain Cristian Romero, who played a major part in the club’s Europa League success last season and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Paratici’s other notable signings included Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Destiny Udogie.

The Italian had also been mooted for taking up a sporting director role with Serie A giants AC Milan earlier this year, but the Rossoneri opted to hire Igli Tare instead.
