After being forced off in Stuttgart’s 1-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach, the length of Deniz Undav’s absence has been confirmed.
The striker was replaced by Chris Führich just 14 minutes into Saturday’s win against Gladbach, and Bild’s Stuttgart reporter Felix Arnold has confirmed that the striker has suffered a medial ligament tear in his left knee.
Undav continued to suffer from injuries throughout the Rückrunde last term and is now unable to get properly underway for Die Schwaben in the opening stages of this campaign, with the striker now sidelined for 4-6 weeks.
Arnold reports that the search for alternatives is underway at Mercedesstraße, with just over a day remaining before the transfer window slams shut.
All being well, Undav could return to training during the October international break.
