Southampton are lining up a move to sign Galatasaray defender Elias Jelert, according to Daily Echo journalist Alfie House.
Friday was a hectic day for the Saints as they aimed to bring in a host of players, particularly after Tyler Dibling and Mateus Fernandes left the club for Everton and West Ham United respectively. The Saints moved fast, announcing the signings of Tom Fellows, Caspar Jander, and Finn Azaz on Friday.
Will Still’s side are preparing for a fight to jump straight back to the Premier League after they were relegated down to the Championship during the 2024/2025 season. Naturally, the Saints were always going to lose players, but they have now completed plenty of incoming business, which should aid their efforts to finish in the top two this term.
Southampton Line Up Move for Elias Jelert
Reporting on X, House has confirmed that Southampton are lining up a move to sign Galatasaray defender Jelert, but he’s unsure if it will 100% happen. The Daily Echo reported add that this could allow James Bree to leave the club, as he’s a full-back that can play on either side of defence.
