The potential transfer of Xavi Simons to Chelsea is going down to the wire with deadline day approaching.
Most recently, Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff got involved in the negotiations over Xavi Simons by reaching out to Chelsea for talks.
The outcome was clear that Chelsea must offload players before they can make a formal offer for the Dutchman, Sky Germany is aware.
At the moment, only a player swap is feasible – for example, involving the Blues’ former Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku.
Leipzig’s price tag remains at €70million all-in, while there are only a few days remain to get the deal done before the September 1 deadline.
Chelsea still need to offload players to fulfil the deal, however the impending sale of Carney Chukwuemeka to Borussia Dortmund should help.
