According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, EFL Championship side Southampton have opened talks with Racing Club de Lens over a transfer for striker Morgan Guilavogui (27). The Toulon-born Frenchman featured during the Sang & Or’s opening day loss against Olympique Lyonnais. Romano reports that no agreement over a fee for the Guinean international has been reached so far.
Will Still worked little with Guilavogui last season when he was at Lens, as the striker was sent on loan to FC St. Pauli. The former Paris FC forward made 25 appearances and scored six goals for the Kiezkicker last season in Hamburg.
St Pauli had exercised a purchase clause in their loan agreement with Lens before the Northern side used their buy-back option this summer – their intention was to keep him for this Ligue 1 campaign under Pierre Sage.
