Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has early this week provided a fresh update on the future of Blancos star Rodrygo.
Frontman Rodrygo has of course seen his name reemerge as an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent days.
This comes amid the understanding that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are giving serious consideration to a move for the Brazilian international.
City are just the latest of a whole host of clubs to have been credited with an interest in Rodrygo across the summer to date.
As much comes in no small part owing to the struggles of the 24-year-old to secure game time at the Club World Cup under the watch of new manager Xabi Alonso.
Speaking to the media in his first press conference of the La Liga season on Monday, it therefore came as little surprise when Rodrygo’s place in his plans was put to Alonso himself.
And the Spanish tactician went on to explain:
“There are many rumors in the summer, but I’ve seen him well and I count on everyone. I count on Rodrygo for sure, 100%”.
