Leeds United’s search for a new centre-forward continues to take shape as the club work to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the upcoming season.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz remains firmly at the top of Leeds’ shortlist, despite no agreement being reached between the two clubs so far.
Muniz impressed last season in the Premier League not only for his ability to score goals but also because of his physical presence and his link-up play.
Muniz scored eight Premier League goals for Fulham last season in 31 appearances in the competition.
Leeds United involved in discussions to sign Rodrigo Muniz
Discussions have been ongoing, but Fulham’s valuation and reluctance to part with the Brazilian striker have so far prevented a breakthrough in negotiations.
Jacobs reports that while Leeds are prepared to remain patient in their pursuit, they are also keeping contingency plans in place.
One such alternative is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has become a free agent this summer after leaving Everton.
The striker has experience in the Premier League and newly promoted side Leeds believe he can help their attack next season in what promises to be a challenging one for the Whites.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another player on Leeds’ radar

However, Calvert-Lewin is not their first choice striker and Leeds will only plan to move for him if they find Muniz unattainable.
The recruitment team at Elland Road is determined to bring in a proven goal scorer who can make an immediate impact, with both Muniz and Calvert-Lewin fitting that profile.
Whether Leeds United succeed in signing Muniz from Fulham or move to a high-profile alternative like Calvert-Lewin, it is clear the club is prioritising a marquee signing up front to spearhead their survival bid.
