A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been ruled out of the club’s opening fixture of the new season.
That’s according to Blancos insider Melchor Ruiz of COPE, who points towards Eduardo Camavinga as the player in question.
The name of youngster Camavinga of course reemerged as an altogether prominent one in the media headlines in Spain’s capital on Sunday.
This came after word was forthcoming that the Frenchman had suffered a fresh injury setback.
Amid ongoing efforts to recover full fitness following a spell on the sidelines with a muscular issue, Camavinga picked up an ankle problem in training.
And as much, as alluded to above, looks set to prove enough to keep the 22-year-old out of contention for Real Madrid’s fast-approaching 2025/26 season opener.
Xabi Alonso’s troops are primed to lock horns with Osasuna in a little over a week’s time, but, as per the aforementioned Melchor Ruiz:
‘Camavinga’s ankle sprain will prevent him from starting the season. He will miss tomorrow’s friendly and the first league match.’
